Kate Cosby, MPH, program director in the UCSF Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health, is quoted in a March 3 online Newsweek article about women who are publicly sharing their abortion experiences through venues like Twitter. In the story, Cosby comments on existing taboos against talking about abortions and mentions her research that shows women tend to distance themselves from others who have had the same procedure. Cosby is a public health researcher who studies abortion policy and emotions. The Bixby Center is housed within the UCSF Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences.
