The March 25, 2009 Young Women's Health Leadership Summit was a unique all day experience designed for young women by young women. Modeled on the 6 successful Young Women’s Health Conferences (2000-2006), the YWHL Summit boldly expressed the philosophy of empowering and inspiring young women with resources and knowledge generating the recognition that they have the ability, the information, and the support to make healthy choices, acquire health care when needed, and sustain one another in reaching their goals.
The 2009 YWHL Summit was a powerful collaboration between the UCSF National Center of Excellence in Women’s Health and the San Francisco Unified School District bringing together 250 girls from 20 high schools across the city.
