Alison Jacoby, MD
Director, Comprehensive Fibroid Center

Dr. Alison Jacoby

 

Dr. Jacoby is an obstetrician-gynecologist who founded the Comprehensive Fibroid Center to provide personalized patient care and effective treatment alternatives to women with fibroids.

A Boston native, Dr. Jacoby graduated from Harvard Medical School and completed residency at Tufts-New England Medical Center. Soon after joining the UCSF faculty in 1997, she discovered her passion for fibroids and created one of the first clinical centers in the country devoted to helping women with fibroids. She has developed expertise in the latest medical and surgical techniques for treating fibroids. Her research focuses on new medical agents for fibroids and understanding the factors that contribute to women's decisions about their treatment.

Dr. Jacoby is joined by other members of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences who have expertise in the management of fibroids.

Faculty in the Division of Interventional Radiology have been performing uterine artery embolization at UCSF since 1998.  They have extensive clinical experience and enjoy helping women overcome their fibroid problems.
